The MMA Foundation launches new Web site
MINNEAPOLIS, July 22, 2009 - The MMA Foundation’s new website, www.MMAfoundation.org, allows physicians and others to make online donations to support scholarships for medical students, increased access to medical care in underserved communities within the state, and other causes.
The site also features a complete description of the foundation, a list of donors, and recent foundation news.
Founded in 1958, the MMA's charitable foundation changed its name in 2007 to the Minnesota Medical Association Foundation.
Over the years, the MMA Foundation focused primarily on supporting the next generation of physicians with student loans. Other activities included offering health education programs, support for physicians with loan relief programs, and disaster relief.
In 2006, the foundation refined its focus. Today, it fulfills its mission by providing scholarships for medical students and working to improve access to high-quality health care in underserved rural and urban areas throughout Minnesota.
