MMA Foundation seeks reviewers for loan forgiveness program

MINNEAPOLIS, December 15, 2008—The MMA Foundation, as a supporter of the Minnesota Rural Physician Loan Forgiveness Program, is helping identify potential reviewers to provide insight and input into the awarding of loans for the upcoming year.

This program, operated by the Minnesota Department of Health's Office of Rural Health and Primary Care, provides educational loan repayment to physicians who agree to practice in rural Minnesota.

The goal of the program is to recruit and retain these providers while providing loan forgiveness as an incentive.

For more information on the program visit www.health.state.mn.us/divs/orhpc/funding/loans/ruralphys.html.

The review panel will meet in January to discuss the applications and recommend awards.

If you are interested in serving as a reviewer, please contact Dennis Kelly, director of development at the MMA Foundation, at (612) 362-3767 or by email at dkelly@mnmed.org.
