Foundation Event Raises Nearly $50,000
Care Where It Counts, the MMA Foundation’s fall fundraising event, welcomed 70 guests and raised nearly $50,000 during its stops in Rochester and the Twin Cities over the last two weeks. See how the program has impacted Dr. Bob Jeske’s life and the town of Waseca in this video.
Care where it Counts Event

Care Where It Counts is a free event hosted by the Minnesota Medial Association Foundation (MMAF) to raise awareness and inspire financial support for the work of the foundation. One of MMAF’s top priorities is to improve access to care in medically underserved communities throughout Minnesota.

Foundation’s Physician Volunteer Program Now in Full Operation
The MMA Foundation’s Physician Volunteerism Program (PVP) has moved from a pilot project to full operation with the listing of several new volunteer opportunities for Minnesota physicians. 
President's Award Delivered to MMA Member

Dennis Kelly, MMA Foundation CEO, presented Beth Baker, MD, with the 2014 President's Award at the MMA's Public Health Committee meeting on April 7. Baker won the award at the 2014 Annual Conference but was unable to attend the event. Baker was recognized for giving selflessly of her time and energy over many years, exercising leadership in furthering the mission and carrying out the work of organized medicine in Minnesota.

Physician Loan Forgiveness

The MMA Foundation’s commitment to Physician Loan Forgiveness was recently noted in the news. Though the reporter attributed the MMA, Physician Loan Forgiveness  remains the MMA Foundation’s commitment to Dr. Jeske and, currently, three other young physicians now practicing in rural or urban medically underserved communities.  Contributions to the MMA Foundation make that commitment possible.  Here’s the story that appeared on WCCO’s CBS Minnesota website.

HCMC Doc Receives Medical Student Leadership Award
On Sept. 25, the MMA Foundation presented its 2014 Medical Student Leadership Award to Rishi Kumar, M.D., MBA, MHA, currently in an internal medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center.

More than 30 members and their guests gathered for the first annual Care Where It Counts fundraiser for the MMA Foundation (MMAF) at the University of Minnesota’s McNamara Alumni Center on Oct. 9.
